  1. Why aren't your prices the lowest?

    Our prices are maintained below our top competitors prices at all times while still allowing us to deliver top-tier performance. ServerWise is not a discount host as we provide a solid up-time guarantee. Please keep in mind that if you spend less for a host you will be receiving less in return. In order for hosts to charge $13 or even $10 to host you, they must in turn host several thousand others on the same server to make up the difference. It's simple business - they plan on making up the difference by providing poor support, less technical knowledge and by overloading their servers with large numbers of accounts. ServerWise servers are kept at under-capacity levels at all times. Our Co-Dedicated, Private Virtual and Semi-Dedicated servers house only 2-25 accounts at a time depending on the plan chosen. Your site will run faster, more efficiently and will benefit from ServerWise server software programs which accompany each plan free of charge.

  10. Why do you charge a setup fee?

    All major hosts charge setup fees. This is a simple matter of time and efficiency. Each account is setup manually which takes time (most accounts are active within 12 hours), however, the setup fee is moreover used to deter squatters and other individuals who sign on with one host for 30 days only to cancel within the Money Back time frame. This is not good for our time or our servers. Setup fees ensure that we are working exclusively with serious, business-minded professionals who appreciate quality.

    Even though our competitors each charge $100 to $175 an hour for additional technical services and support (beyond that which applies directly to your hosting account), in most cases ServerWise will not charge for some help with scripting or designing.   1. Do you have an nonprofit or charitable price discounts?

    Yes we do. Please contact us and include which Package you are interested in. You will be asked for your non-profit license or registration. Specific discounts vary widely depending on the non-profit involved and the Hosting Plan. Some non-profits are allowed to host free of charge with ServerWise, however, the Group does require the ServerWise name to appear at the bottom of each page on the site and reserves this generous service typically for high-profile non-profits.

  2. Is there a discount if I pre-pay for a number of months in advance?

    Each Package includes a special annual or prepaid pricing option. Please refer to the individual pricing of each plan as discounts vary (based on the plan selected) from one free month to two free months of hosting or more.

    All accounts are proudly activated with a 30-day trial period money-back guarantee. The setup fee is not refundable unless the account was canceled prior to its setup.

    All accounts are activated within 24 hours. Each account is carefully and manually entered into the system and spidered to ensure that the creation of the account was a complete success.   8. Do you provide a full, free CGI dir? Can I run CGI scripts outside of the CGI directory? Can I debug a problematic CGI script on the server?

    All accounts are provided with your own CGI-BIN. You do not share your cgi-bin with anyone. You can access the server's system cgi (cgi-sys) in the event that you should wish to utilize additional free benefits such as automatic form processing, etc. You may also choose to run your CGI or Perl programs from outside your cgi-bin and you may, of course, debug your perl or cgi program on the server. Please keep in mind that ServerWise is a premier server software company and developer. Each server is designed by server software developers allowing you the ultimate in flexibility and power. You may also contact ServerWise Support and request a free ServerWise server software program that will help you to debug third-party scripts and program suites.

  9. Is there a limit to how many scripts I can install?

  10. Do you provide Telnet or SSH access? For example, could I tar/gzip files up, or run a perl script to edit all the files while on the server?

    ServerWise allows you secure telnet access via SSH and is rather unique in our servers' SSH setup. Once SSH is setup for you (at no additional charge) you will simply require a SSH program to gain access and then you may use your username and password. This eliminates the time-consuming bother of uploading a public key to the server, etc. We strive to make it easy as possible while maintaining the security and integrity of the servers.

    The ServerWise Group was founded on April 28, 1995 and has operated profitably since 1996. On June 1, 2001 the ServerWise Group merged and became the e-businesses branch of the Oversight Technology Corporation and in doing so was afforded considerable resources to expand into the web hosting market with the acquisition of 1500MHz (1.5GHz) IBM servers. Each month additional servers are purchased when necessary and are configured and setup within 72 hours by ServerWise Technicians. This important measure ensures that ServerWise will always be able to grow and expand as needed without tying up financial resources into servers not in use. The Hosting venture of the ServerWise Group is currently profitable and major international partners are constantly being sought out and developed in order to expand the ServerWise brand and scope of services offered.
